The wrong thing to take away from this is that McCain being an idiot neo-con automatically makes the Democrats being the right answer. The fact is, both parties have blocked nuclear for thirty years, and the bulk of Democrats voted AGAINST drilling for the past ten. If they HAD voted back then, we would be experiencing lower prices NOW. You can't perpetually use the "we only take seriously immediate answers" strategy with peak oil around the corner and no practical immediate solution. Last time I checked, we still need gas, deisel, and jet fuel in the interim. It's kind of impossible to run an airplane on solar panels. Government's best idea this whole time? Appropriate money from its citizens and give that money to big corn companies under idealist socialist subsidy bills for ethanol. That made people less able to afford investments in alternatives, it raised the price of corn and everything that eats corn negating fuel savings, and lastly did nothing to reduce emissions since it takes almost as much energy to create ethanol as you get from it. BRILLIANT! And you idiots keep electing these people to intervene in the market. Why? Elect a libertarian or something this time for christ's sake, neither of these parties knows how to do anything but sling mud at each other for political power.

Chog, maybe apologize to Jimmins, the longer video should have been used, it provides the back story...

Early on Mr. Mohawk says (paraphrase) "After a morning of teaching my wife to properly handle/care for a gun, and telling her not to touch it while I go somethingsomething, here she is, fiddling away, time for some husband's revenge"

She was told not to handle the gun without him present. Actually a fairly sound idea for someone with no real experience in guns. Kinda a fucked up response though. Makes me have doubts of HIS ability to handle firearms.

For those who say he won't be gettin any for a while. I look at the entire video and wonder if that is necessarily a bad thing.

xxovercastxx, the guy wrote an article where he puked out the same hilarious editorial that he presented in this video. That article does include one snippet of data, but it is totally irrelevant. It doesn't even come close to being grounds for his argument. Whether or not Hitchens is ultimately right, his argument, as presented here or in Vanityfair, is not valid.
As to whether 'data' have to be "scientific," I don't care... any evidence to back up the guy's blabbering would help.

The reason that I made the comment in the first place is that I'm irritated when people see someone shooting their mouth off in a reputable source, like Vanityfair or VideoSift, and then take what they are saying as fact. An editorial in a magazine is not fact; it is not a source; it is not evidence for anything! It would be clear that Hitchens has no relevant "data", if the reader/viewer just took a second to be critical of what he is saying.
